WORKED EXAMPLE

Build Your First AI Content Service

A worked example: turn one approved business brief into three useful posts you can deliver.

By Sean Ali · October 13, 2026

I spent years creating products, pages, ads, and emails. One lesson carries across all of them: the person reading needs to understand what you mean.

That’s a useful place to begin with an AI content service. The offer isn’t “I can generate words.” It’s “I can help you turn your real information into something your customers understand.”

This is an illustrative walkthrough, not a client case study or a reported result.

The sample brief: three posts for a fitness studio

Approved facts for this example

  • The studio offers beginner strength classes.
  • The instructor can review technique during class.
  • People book through the studio’s existing booking link.
  • No prices, schedules, testimonials, or outcome claims have been supplied.

Deliverable: three draft captions, a simple posting order, and one round of edits. Publishing, design, and paid advertising are outside this sample scope.

1. Get the inputs before you generate anything.

Ask for the actual offer, audience, booking link, current information, and a few examples of the owner’s voice. Ask what must not be claimed. You’re trying to reduce guessing before it enters the draft.

If the business can’t supply a detail, leave a marked placeholder. Don’t let AI fill it with something plausible.

2. Give each post one job.

The first post can explain who the class is for. The second can answer a common question. The third can make the next step clear. Three useful messages beat three versions of “transform your life.”

Use only the approved facts below to draft three social captions.
Audience: people considering their first beginner strength class.
Post 1: explain who the class is for.
Post 2: explain that the instructor can review technique.
Post 3: invite the reader to check availability through the booking link.
Write in plain language. Give each post one main idea and one next step.
Do not invent schedules, prices, testimonials, urgency, or health results.
Use [BOOKING LINK] where the approved link belongs.
Approved facts: [paste the business's approved brief]

3. Review the draft like an editor.

Here’s one possible sample caption based on that brief:

New to strength training? Our beginner classes give you a place to start, with an instructor who can check your technique. See available sessions and book here: [BOOKING LINK].

Now check the wording with the owner. Does “beginner” mean no previous experience? Does every relevant class include technique review? Does the link open the right booking page? A short draft still needs real review.

4. Deliver something easy to approve.

Put the three captions in one document. Label each one by purpose. Include the approved facts, any open questions, and the suggested order. Keep the booking link visible so someone can test it.

Send a simple handoff: “Here are the three draft captions. I’ve marked the items that need your confirmation. Once you approve the facts and links, I’ll make the agreed revision.”

5. Know what “finished” means.

  • Every factual statement matches the approved brief.
  • No invented testimonial, price, timetable, or result appears.
  • The business owner approves the voice and wording.
  • The booking link works.
  • The agreed number of posts and revisions is clear.
  • The owner knows whether you or they will publish.

What the buyer is paying for

The value is the research, organization, judgment, editing, and reliable handoff. AI can help you create the first draft. You’re responsible for making it useful.

Time one complete delivery. Include the briefing, review, revisions, and communication. Use that information when you decide whether your price and process make sense.
